Kalikova & Associates takes part in parliamentary hearings on implementation of the Public-Private Partnership Law

The hearings held by the Parliamentary Committee on Economic and Fiscal Policy on February 16, 2018 were attended by the members of Government, Ministry of Economy, other public authorities and local administration offices, international organizations and business community.

Participants discussed issues related to public-private partnership (PPP) implementation in Kyrgyzstan. Concerns were raised that PPP implementation is lagging due to complex legislation and mechanisms that require further refinement and revision.

K&A Counsel Gulnara Kalikova made a presentation on the existing gaps and obstacles in the current PPP Law, including in respect of project preparation and private partner selection.

Reportedly, the Government intends to submit the draft of the new PPP Law to the Parliament in the near future. K&A lawyers are proud to have contributed, together with the Ministry of Economy, to the drafting of the new PPP Law.
